You can just use Internet Connections Sharing software (ICS). Windows comes with it, and there are third party versions. With this solution, you will need 2 NICs in the main computer. One for the cable modem, and one to the hub. If you are only sharing with 1 other computer, you can just eliminate ...

What would you consider solid data? For some reason everyone thinks "All modems are equal", but electronics all vary in quality. Also, most of you dont believe me and all the people that did the testing. Im not a salesman for Terayon or anything.

Well multiple people have used both kinds of modems in the same hosue at the same location with the same computer, and all had the same results. When the Terayon got 8mbps, the Motorola didnt. OOL executives and engineers weren't totally sure why, but summed it up to the different chipset. The ...

Actually I can explain it. I dont blame you for doubting it, but dont be so sure and against me.

There has been extensive testing done, and 95% of the time, Terayons/Toshibas are SIGNIFICANTLY faster than SB4100. What happened was people were using the Terayon, and were getting 8mbps. Some people ...

If your provider will be giving you bandwidth in excess of 4.5mbps, go with a Terayon or Toshiba. If not, get a Motorola SB4100. The Terayon and Toshiba provide more speed on average on a high bandwith ISP.

If you havent already posted at DSLR (whats your name if you did?), download the 64mb file from ftp://ftp1.optonline.com/pub/, and tell us what the speed is about halfway. Also, run a tweak test. Which modem do you have? If possible, check the levels on it.

I think your mixing up bits and bytes. KB is kilobytes, whiel kb is kilobits. 1 KB = 8kb

4800kb is a very good speed compared to the average cable user. Is your ISP OOL? Also, download a large file from aol, ms, or another fast server. That speed is in KB, and is the most accurate.
