1) You can have more than one or two in there. Having more than one is good, because if the first one doesn't answer a query within a time period, or know the answer to the first query, your computer will move down the list.
2) Yes some DNS servers are faster than others. Depends on several things ...

DNS server configuration

hi all

i have questions about dns configuration, using windows 2000. my connection is adsl , 3com modem(812 router) , and not dynamic ip.

1) i use to configure my dns servers list. is it better i have more than only one pair(prim/sec) that my isp give me?

2) can i say: 'a dns server can be faster ...

hi there :)

today, my connection, to internet, requires no authentication, and i can use free proxys servers.

may be, my isp will change this situation, and i'll have to login to access internet.

my question is: will it be possible to use proxys with authentication?

i have a compaq and an hitachi laptop.

when i try to connect to http://www.geocities.com using compaq, IE returns an error message 'internal server error' with friendly http message on. when i try to connect using hitachi, no error is returned.

i am confused about my settings. i wish you could help, or anyone who is reading this thread.

i am not a PPPOE user, so i set my MTU to 1500, since 02/2001.

Hi guys

Well, I have a 256 kb/s ADSL connection, a PIII 650 MHZ Compaq with 192 KB RAM.

When I make a download using IE 5.5, my download speed is 26 KB/s to 30 KB/s. I installed a lot of download managers: DAP, NetAnts, Octopus...but I can see no advantage, the managers don't speed up, the one ...
