Yup, disk 2 would be it. I have done several restores with Acronis and each time they work, although I wish they were a little more intuitive!

I experienced the same issue with a new install of Vista, the instructions on this page helped to speed things up (although they are still slower than XP was):

They claim it will be for a "nominal fee" but I cannot tell you how much that would be.

AOL and Active Virus Shield
Personally, AOL's involvement with Active Virus Shield and their deceptive EULA (http://www.castlecops.com/article6636.html) makes me lean more towards AVG in the free antivirus arena. Of course, I may be a little cynical when it comes to AOL, but that is just me.

A couple of questions. Are you being assigned a valid IP address? If not, you need to make sure that you can ping the router. If so, can you ping any outside addresses? Try pinging 4.2.2.2 and see if you get a response. If you do get a reply then you need to ping an address somewhere, I usually use ...

Another Take on the License Issue
Here is another take on the Vista license issue. It claims that users will be allowed 10 initializations and after that a re-initialization will be up to Microsoft's discretion. At least there may be some hope...
