More Vista License Stuff

The Mark Smith guy doesnt seem to be up on Windows Activation junk, but it still doesn't make me feel any better. They dont explain what will set it off as being too different.

So it might take a bit more to set it off than the XP WGA, but once it is set off, then you're screwed.

So Mark Smith has never had to call to activate his XP is what I assume you're referring to

but more flexible....seems kinda silly to say with what we know already.

Another Take on the License Issue

Post by Redduck »

Here is another take on the Vista license issue. It claims that users will be allowed 10 initializations and after that a re-initialization will be up to Microsoft's discretion. At least there may be some hope...

If you can afford to keep upgrading your hardware, you can afford to keep updating your software! You may want to look into buying a 10-copy license when you pick up Vista. :p

Here is another entry about Vista licensing. If this is correct it looks like MS has decided to make a major (and positive) change.

This is good.. as long as I'm allowed to do whatever with my own copy in my own home on my own computers I'm happy... I shouldn't have to buy 10 copies for 10 of my OWN computers.

If you are running 10 computers at once yes. if you're running 1 then build another and another and so on but only have 1 working PC then you only need one copy.

But if you buy 1 copy of windows for all the PCs in your house, 2k, XP, or Vista, then you're illegaling running it on all but one.
