Hi chaps, sorry for the old thread bump.
i'm having this issue of only being able to wol from internet for a short time after shutdown.
wondered if there are now definative solutions.
fwiw. my pc will wake after long periods if wol from internal lan. so it would appear my nic is listening infinitely ...

i can't quite grasp what you trying to do, 2 router's etc?
from what i can gather you have a pc downstairs connected to the internet via wireless through a wireless router, then you have a cable from that router to the pc upstairs. and now you want another cable(internet connection) for your xbox ...

just to re-cap. now working.
all the above pc's where changed to manual ip addresses, then dhcp was disabled on the router, the pc that i wanted ics on ,now has a bridge between the wireless and the lan ports. the bridge it self was manually ip address'd and i had to tell both these connections the ...

If the PC with the wireless (that you are trying to connect the xbox to) has both wireless capability AND a wired network card, you could connect the xbox to that computer with a crossover cable, then bridge the wireless and wired networks on the PC. XP will act as a poor-man's router and allow ...

i know a game adapter would work but i've spent enough already (2 xbox360's)on what i have, and i theory ics should work.
ps i did assign ip's to everything and turned off dhcp on the router,everything still works except i get the same error when enabling ics :mad:

so if i assign ip's for all pc's and router and gateway ip etc etc turning off dhcp on the router , i can have ics on 1 of the pc?
