So in essence what you are saying is that this can work and yield great perfomance provided that everything is setup properly, pins, placing the hard drives on the right IDE along with the optical equipment. Yesssss!

Excuse me It's not performing a clean installation in Safemode but after the clean install has been performed going into safemode and installing the core components like the chipset drivers, video drivers, audio driver. etc.

I meant performing a clean install wiping the harddrive, partitioning, the whole nine yards. Rebooting the system with the installation disk in the tray and performing a clean fresh copy of Windows XP.

You should be able to type in your browser launchmodem, this will pull up your Bellsouth properties where you can make the bridged change in your modem. You have to make the change and then save it. I hope this will help you.

I am using Windows XP Pro. I bridge my Westell modem and configured my router for PPPOE. It seems to work better that way in my case. I guess it maybe that the router is a better piece of equipment than the Westell modem. Anyhow my internet is a lot more snappier and quicker than before.
