Often wondered the same thing. I think what he and I would like to see if possible is Fax and Telephone service that works through your cable modem. Dsl and dial up customers can set up fax software that will receive and send faxes. Also they can make internet telephone calls.

Yea, it costs money but it is vitually uncrackable due to the encrytion algorithms used.

I use this to access my PC from work and night school.
Nice file transfer features and you can allow visiters to access your PC with full access or "view" only access.

I have had no luck with VNC ...

Why doesn't this test show if your PMTU is on?
There is a lot of stuff there. I don't understand it.
I used to have all the tests show fine and would download over 600K but things have slowed to 200+K.
The only real change would be the PGP encryption ...

Ok, I read the faq at Dslreports if that is what you meant. I tried entering both .dll entries in the run box and got a load error.
No @home software.
Got the tweaktester to work.

No, I did not look at the faq. I just made sure no proxy was inabled under lan settings in my browser. I have never had @home software on my puter.
Explain to me what kind of proxy you mean?
I thought Dan said not to have Pmtu turned on?
I guess I will change it back. Do I need to keep manually ...

The tweakser at dslreports is offline.
I did as you said.

MTU = 1496
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1456

If you mean using a router or hub from my house, no go. I have one pc through @home with ZA as a firewall. No hardware externals at all.
If you mean somewhere in cyberspace please explain as I do not understand how this is turning it off??
I deleted those keys and used DrTCP to set my RWIN and PMTU ...

Dr.TCP says it is on.
Tried changing values to the same in registry as you said.
Same result. Could something like a router on the internet be masking it?

I have uninstalled all the patches I ever used and manually set it up. My speed are great. The RWIN could probably be a little higher but I get over 2500 down.

Go here and download this "free" software. Use the http site from Norway and do some reading. One of the features is a disk wipe that is guranteed to exeed government standards.
EE costs money and is full of hype. You can do better with PGP plus you get email,file,ICQ,etc.... encrytion.

You should try typing from a command prompt:
netstat -a -n
It will show what ports are listening. Do it right after boot so you have no programs open.
Do secure your bindings according to the directions at the link above.

I too get the 1500 MTU reading.
I have one pc with ZA. Correct IP, it is actually set at 1496 verified through registry and at Dslreports. The MSS shows correctly at 1456.
