SNMP and MIBS

A cable modem has several hundred MIBS that control a wide variety of functions. A list of all DOCSIS MIBS along with the complete DOCSIS specs can be found a http://www.cablemodem.com/specifications.html
There will also be a number of MIBs specific to the model and brand of modem.
One of the ...

With cable, more trunks needs to be put in place in your area to allocate bandwidth properly

DOCSIS modems give the cable companies the ability to continually test line condition. The modem will report power levels, SNR, and other factors that affect performance. By leaving the modems on, you end up with a better maintained cable plant. Another factor is that a booting modem chews up ...

Some makes and models of modem have better thruput than others, but it is a little like arguing if a Mustang is faster than a Camero when the speed limit is (strictly)55. Speed, for the most part, is not limited by the modem.

There is no difference in speed. The CM-235 is the newer design and will replace the CM-225. They are not competing models, as in one is the standard and one is the deluxe. The customer will see little or no difference between the two.

The 192.168.100.1 address was correct, but you need to add it to Exceptions list to bypass the proxy.

There are 2 pages of info. Not much on the first that you can't see from the LEDs. Try http://192.168.100.1/moreInfo.html Pay attention to caps.

The LEDs give a good indication of startup status ...

The DOCSIS upstream can be from 2 to 42 MHz. The modem can broadcast upstream at variable power, from +8 to +58 dBmV. The power level is set by the Head End. A sub band attenuator would force the modem to increase power in order to deliver the same signal level to the Head End. If they are connected ...

What are you using to generate the chart you are posting?

16 dBmV is only one dBmV over the DOCSIS standard. It should be all right. If you want to lower the power, swap out the splitter with one that has more taps. You should terminate unused taps. Does your modem provide a SNR?
