I have tried the steps you provided a few times and my laptop still says "plugged in, not charging." I just put in a new battery today because it used to say "plugged in, not charging. Consider replacing your battery." I replaced the battery with a brand new one and it is still not charging. I have 0% battery all the time and can not take it off the adapter or it shuts off immediately. Any ideas?
well i also got this issue but i fix this like temp solution ...
1- first unplug the charger pin from laptop. 2- right click on the battery icon and select the different plan for the battery for example if it is set on power saver select 1 from 2 i.e balanced or high performance. 3- then plug the pin again... thats it. i solve this problem every time like this when it occurs.. hope this helps. sorry for poor English.

Hi all...
I am one of the persons who are looking for the solution that plugged in not charging occurs.. Often you would perform steps that are performing operations on device manager , restarting systems , updating bios , etc... But believe me after one month of struggle today i found the solution finally. I went to market and told the technician that my laptop says plugged in not charging. He fixed the adapter in 15 minutes and said many of the times fault occurs in cable of adapter. It only costs 3-4$.And now my battery is being charged. Please do not follow any steps , its just waste of time.. Believe me i was one of them that was very much in problem and finding solutions for these... Thanks
I tried every thing on the web and nothing worked. Finalyy I twisted and moved the wire close to pin where it connects to computer and it started charging. For some reason the wire is broken in a way that it powers the computer but doesnt charge the battery !!!! so finally after 2 weeks of 0% connected not charging to now 3% and charging .. and its going up ! So if nothing works for you I mean re installing ACPI , connecting /disconnecting battery, updating Bios, changing battery etc etc then try new adapter ! i was lucky to fing the break near the pin because thats where the the my wire was always bent!

Hey guys,
I am also facing the same problem i solved it by following steps. Step 1. Unplug battery adapter. Step 2 . Go to device manager. Step3. Under batterties , disable the microsoft ACPI-Compliant cntrol method battery( it will ask for a reboot ) Step 4. After reboot plug in charger and you see battery icon is missing so again go to the device manager and enable the microsoft compliant method , now your battery seems charging. Thats all you need to do |
