7. Can the Satellite Internet connection be shared ?

Yes, you can share the satellite connection across your local network comparatively easy. In most cases you won't be able to use a hardware router like you would for a cable/dsl connection. Mainly, this is because there is client software that must be running on a "host" computer directly connected to the satellite modem for the system to work.

To share the internet connection then, that "host", or server computer must remain on while any one network client needs to access the internet. You will also need some type of Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) software running on the host computer. There is a built-in ICS software in Windows 98SE and up, or you can opt to use any one of the various available third party software solutions.
