Linksys E2100L

details: Wireless-N Router
hardware type: Wireless Router
date added: 2010-03-31
updated: 2013-05-01
The Linksys E2100L is a wireless broadband router with a single 10/100Mbps WAN port, four 10/100Mbps LAN ports and a single USB port, providing connectivity to storage devices for file sharing at home or over the Internet. It supports FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file systems for storage devices.

The integrated access point complies with IEEE 802.11n, providing wireless transmission rates of up to 300Mbps. It supports WEP and WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption. The E2100L uses WMM (QoS) to prioritize the traffic over the network. A WPS button allows for easy wireless security configuration.

This router provides VPN pass-through for IPSec, L2TP and PPTP. It has a built-in SPI firewall that provides a reliable protection against hackers and malicious attacks.

The E2100L can be easily configured via Web-based configuration utility or by using the Cisco Connect software. It has three simple steps to get you set up a secure wireless network. An user-friendly interface allows you to choose from simple to advanced settings. In addition to a simple wireless network setup wizard, the Cisco Connect software includes parental controls (access time, websites) and allows for simple management of a separate, secure network for guests.

Notable E2100L features:
- Linux based OS (third party firmware support)
- simultaneous dual-band operation in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands
- USB port for centralized file sharing with NAS devices (FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS support)
- 2 detachable antennas
