Apple Airport Extreme

details: Dual-band a/b/g/n Wireless Rotuer
hardware type: Wireless Router
date added: 2009-02-09
updated: 2013-02-20
The sleek, easy-to-use AirPort Extreme Base Station with Gigabit Ethernet is the perfect wireless access point for home, school, or small business. Blazing fast, it delivers up to five times the performance and up to twice the range compared to 802.11g routers. And you can use it with Macs, PCs and other Wi-Fi devices such as iPhone and Apple TV.

Configured using a Mac/PC Setup Wizard, rather than web admin interface.

Pros: easy setup, gigabit switch, virtually no WPA2 throughput loss, print and file server
Cons: higher throughput loss using WEP/WPA-PSK, doesn't work on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz simultaneously, no SPI firewall, no port triggering
