3333 udp dec-notes Wireshark (formerly Ethereal) is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the dissect_enttec_dmx_data() function when processing DMX data within ENTTEC packets. By sending a specially-crafted packet to UDP port 3333, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.

Horos could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system, caused by the failure to restrict unwanted access. An attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request to the port 3333 containing "dot dot dot" sequences (/.../) in the URL to view arbitrary files on the system.
