The price of Spotify Premium is about to jump again in the US, marking its third price hike since 2023. The company didn't list too many reasons for the change, claiming merely it's updating its pricing to "keep delivering a great experience."

Individual Premium plans in the US will increase from $11.99 to $12.99 by the next billing date. Student plans are also increasing from $5.99 to $6.99. Other plans will see a bigger hike, with Duo increasing from $16.99 to $18.99, and Family increasing from $19.99 to $21.99. These are US-specific increases, but users in Estonia and Latvia can see Spotify’s updated pricing by visiting the company's website.

"Occasional updates to pricing across our markets reflect the value that Spotify delivers, enabling us to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit artists," Spotify said in its announcement. In the email it's sending to subscribers, Spotify justifies that it's raising prices "to keep delivering a great experience."

Spotify said it will notify customers via email over the next month when their new price is going into effect. The new prices will apply for customer's next billing cycle. An example email shared by the platform indicated the new subscription rate would start on a customer's February billing date.
