Netflix testing $16.99 'Ultra' plan2018-07-04 16:12 by DanielaTags: Netflix
Netflix is reportedly testing out a new “Ultra” subscription tier that would up the monthly price even higher than the company's current $13.99 "Premium" option. According to Italian blog Tutto Android, Netflix is testing an "Ultra" plan for $16.99 per month offering HDR video, HD audio, and four concurrent streams. "We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time. In this case, we are testing slightly different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix," Netflix spokesperson Smita Saran said. Netflix most recently raised prices in the fourth quarter of 2017. It hiked the two-stream HD tier to $10.99 per month (up from the previous $9.99) and the Premium plan from $11.99 to $13.99 per month. The single-stream, non-HD Basic plan remained unchanged at $7.99. Much of that money will likely be funneled into content; Netflix has pledged to spend up to $8 billion on original content in 2018 alone. Read more -here-
