Clearwire Corp. said that it continues to evaluate offers from both Sprint Nextel Corp. and Dish Network Corp. to acquire the company, according to paperwork Clearwire filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. Sprint late last year agreed to buy the half of Clearwire in a $2.2 billion deal, but Dish soon after made an unsolicited offer for the wireless broadband provider as well. Both companies are vying for Clearwire's spectrum - the airwaves used by mobile phones and tablets. Sprint has argued that its bid is superior because it's simpler and carries fewer conditions. Clearwire's continued review of the Dish offer may give hope to minority shareholders who have said they are unhappy with Sprint's $2.97-a-share agreement to buy out Clearwire, especially in light of Dish's higher offer in January.
