SNIPER ATTACKS AND VIDEO GAMES...already starting
Well I was checking out MSNBC.COM today and a reporter has already mentioned sniper activities in video games. He also mentioned that because most first person shooter video games have "GOD MODE" that this could somehow be linked to the sniper attacks LOL. I knew this would come down to lets place the blame on video games ONCE again!!!! When are people going to wake up and realize that there ins't always an answer to WHY crazy people do crazy things? Just because I play MOH and QUAKE does not mean after I am done playing I am going to go out and feel the need to kill REAL people and destroy lives. There is a big difference between real life and video games and if someone can't decipher the difference then they had problems well before ever playing that game!!!! Sorry I just had to rant.

Well i I were a crazy and decided to go on a rampage I'd just go do some target shooting? Pretty soon it will be against USA law to play first person shooters. The commonly used FPS ports will be scanned and any one playing will have thier computer taken away and a hefty fine lol.

I can't contest to what it feels like to shoot a real gun but something tells me it is a whole lot different from shooting, in say UT or CS.
There are a lot more efficent ways at imporving hand eye coordination - like playing ping pong.

Lets see, then we will move on to guns in general are horrible. How does playing a video game all that different than shooting a real gun at targets when it comes to making someone want to go on a rampage.

No argument here but video games DON'T create crazy people....video games just give the crazy people virtual target practice. The military uses video target systems for use in inclement weather.
As far as shooting goes...once you get past the recoil of the weapon....it is very similar.

Oh, gee, I don't know.
After all, we all know that humans are just moving pixels. And the bullets? Nothing more than rules that dictate what they do. And let's not forget that all the 'bad people' die with relatively little bloodloss. Oh yes, you can die and come back to life, too!
So trade that typical for something colorful, and if it's crazy live a little crazy!

I don't think guns are horrible, I think they are great when used correctly and for the right reasons. When I think of guns I think of the many hours me and my dad spent at the shooting range. Him showing me how to load, shoot, and teaching my all of the safety precautions. A game differs much more than real life target shooting, there is a bigger responsibilty while target shooting than there is while playing a FPS. For one you are merely holding a mouse in your hands and aiming to shoot PIXELS not real life targets. Any fool can see that

i know there is a HUGE difference between real shooting and computer shooting. let me rephrase Shooting pixels doesnt make you want to shoot people for real just like shooting targets doesnt.
