i been really into the bass guitar since the first time i heard come as you are by nirvana, the sound just kept me listening to that song

anyways i was thinking bout pickin up mayb a second hand bass guitar and just wondering how hard it is to learn and like maintain and such?

NOw whats fun is to turn the amp on overdrive then just play the guitar its fun as crap it will make all those squelling noises and crap. Feels like your a rock star.HEHE

I play bass with a latin band, dunno if it's the same thing. It's a bit easier than playing rock or metal.

I can play a little bass main instrutment is the ole 6 stringer :) been playing for 13 years now it's like a vice of mine. Ever since I picked it up I've been addicted. :D

I play bass.
The learning of the instrument, depends on what you wish to play. If you would be content with Krist Novaselic style, it should not be to difficult. If you wish to be Jaco or Les Claypool, then prepare for a bit more of a commitment.
Basses are easy enough to maintain. They do not require the incessant string changing of standard guitars. Amplification is more of an issue, being that you need to push more air with the instrument. Fortunately, solid state amps are more than up to the task.
