You've already got the best, in my opinion. 2002 is much easier on resources then previous versions. Keep your definitions updated and enjoy. I truthfully wouldn't consider any other AV program myself. :)

Alternatives?? There are some, well, a couple.
Most of the well named brands are large in size.

AVG (as if this wasn't expected, hey Blebs?) is ok as well. http://www.grisoft.com
Great for email scanning as well.
As a support for AVG there is another program called Antidote which is an "On Demand only" AV program. It detects virus infestations using a huge database and warns of infected or suspect files. http://www.vintage-solutions.com/Englis ... nload.html

Others are NOD32, Kaspersky AV, AntiVir to name but a few.
Enjoy.

I use AVG 6.0 and it has saved me a few times from viruses just by visiting a site.

I've used Norton in the past, but not recently (was thinking of using it again). My only other experience is with Mcafee.

The 4.x versions work on some machines great and others not. (BSOD's, slow the machine down to a crawl).

I don't know about the 6.0 version. Only did an install once and it was on a Win ME machine.

I use the Network Associates (aka "McAfee") product, mostly because the price is right. The company I work for has an enterprise license, and they encourage employees to install it on their home machines and maintain the updates (for no charge). I haven't tried anything else, but it seems to do the trick for me.

Been using DrWeb for several months. Very pleased.
Sometimes a little aggressive, but if you know what is on your HD, no problem.
Also very good at replying to e-mails.
