InoculateIT - old free version question

Post by The_Lurker »

i just noticed that i can still download virus definitions for this antivirus program. i do have the old free version that is registered.

i thought that new virus definitions were to be stoped for this program, that they were forcing people to buy the program.

hmmm, is this just a fluke in my favor? or am i missing something here?

I think you are right. I got the new dat files even after they said they were stoping the free stuff. But I finally got another virus scan figuring it would end soon. But I see it has not yet since you are still getting them. Wonder how long it will last.

If this is the case and the defs are still available then the program may still be available at a few sites. Haven't checked but http://www.wilders.org were carrying it in their d/loads list and the program came from them, not CAI.

The only downside to this is the engine upgrades won't happen and the program will soon be useless.

Nice of CAI to continue the release of updates though.
