i know some firewalls slow down your download speeds, i am wondering does zonealarm slow it down at all??

well when i got my router and got rid of ZA my comptuer and internet sped up a little becuase of the sheer fact that i didnt have another program running

I've run speed tests before and forgot to shutdown ZA and I never really saw a difference.

I just shut down ZA for a sec and ALL my long downloads took a nose dive...whent from an hour remaining to six hour, restarted ZA and they all back to an hour

ZA does not slow you down at all. You can shut it off completely and still achieve the same speeds as with it running.

I haven't heard of a program that slows down your internet speed (without messing with any internet settings).

to mee it seems pages load faster with zone alarm than without it running.
