LAN Speeds

Post by Tuz76 »

Hi guys,

If I want to measure the throughput of my network, how do I do that?

Is there a way I can see in terms of x/second how fast data is travelling across a network?

Like a Measurement of speed?

Thanks

if you have xp they have a network monitor built in. Its in win 2k too obviously. They also have this software at

just dl DU Meter, works very well and is very accurate
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity.

OK I tried netCPS

The results were weird.

Using a crossover cable between win2k and win98SE. With only 2 protocols installed on both (TCP/IP and Netbeui).

Bear in mind that on the 98SE machine, Netbeui is set as the default protocol.

Results were approx: 10-10.5mbps (I think) and it (the test) took 9.34 seconds to transfer.

Is this slow?
