Where are they being stored in XP? With 98/ME there was a Temporary Internet Files directory, but with that's been moved somewhere and I can't find it.
I am not sure where they are located at, since I do not have WinXP, which I hopefully get one day, but there is a nice lil' feature in IE6 that can clear them everytime you close the browser.
Click Tools
Internet Options
Advanced TAB
Then scroll down to "Security" at the very bottom, and you can find the option under Security. Just thought I'd let ya know.
Dr Doug: Yeah, that option showed me where I can view and delete/copy the files, though it still doesn't show where on my HD they are! Thanks!
ARS: On IE6, that doesn't show where the files are at, though that does give you some options on how to deal with Temp files. Thanks for the help...And you'll love XP when you make the move. Very impressive and rock solid!

In windows 98 you can go into the internet options and then the advanced tab and put a check in the "empty temporary internet files when browser is closed" I have done this for a while. But now it is not doing it. When I close IE the files are still there. Can any one help?
Try this for the Temp Files in XP......
Documents and Settings/Username/Local Settings
Each user has a set I believe.
Seems I have just found another reason not to upgrade to XP.
Why has this OS found so much support?

I believe it's in the Documents folder on the Desktop somewhere. I had gotten a free OEM version of XP Home upgrade when I bought my new system but had lots of trouble with it. Went back to ME.
Thanks everyone for the help. SG's awesome! It's easiest to move/access temp files directly through the IE6 menu interface. I go there to get the flash/mpg files, etc so I can save them to disk.
Yeah, Ken. That's all there. I just hadn't used IE6 in such a long time, I wasn't used to all this new stuff when I upgraded to XP. It also gives you the option to choose/create whatever directory you want to hold the temp files. Once I found it, it was obvious.
