can i get any more out of this???
did a little tweaking today and wanted to have some of you gurus check it out,im on pppoe dsl,i think my cap is 768/128
my os is win 98se
1ghzamd
512ram

TCP options string = 020405ac0103030301010402

MTU = 1492
MTU seems to be optimized for PPPoE... If you are not on a PPPoE connection, consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

MSS = 1452
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1452, which is equal to MSS.
MSS is optimized for PPPoE. If you are not on a PPPoE connection, consider increasing your MTU value.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 372296
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 46537
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 14891.84 kbps (1861.48 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 5956.736 kbps (744.592 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF

Time to live left = 52 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

What type of connection are you on, DSL, cable??
you will want the RWIN a multiple of MSS. If your not running PPPoE connection, the MaxMTU could be set to 1500. to test that,
at the DOS prompt, type:
PING -F -L 1500 [your isp here]
the F and L, I used lower case in DOS, do not know if that makes a diff, but I put caps here so they are clear. Work your way down from 1500, until you get to a number that does not need to be fragmented, that is the largest unit you can sent through you ISP. then add 28, and make that number your MaxMTU. Mine works at 1472, anything more needs to be fragmented, so my MaxMTU is set at 1500. For RWIN settings, look through a bunch of the posts in here and decide for yourself what you want, I think something close to what you have would be fine, just make it a multiple of MSS. Hope that helps, these guys in here have helped me plenty.

You said up above you are on PPPoE, MTU is right at 1492, try changing RWIN to 511104 :) :) :)

Turn on MTU Discovery and your ready to rock and roll :) :)

If you by chance are using Cablenuts adjuster: GlobalmaxTcpWindoSize needs to be -BLANK

Set it to 1, you have it at 0, for directions go hare :) :)

If you have adjuster, save to registry at bottom and reboot
