Grr ads

Post by Humboldt »

Just watched a 1:15 minute clip on Reuters about the Hong Kong rioting.

To watch those 75 seconds I had to sit through four 30 seconds ads that couldn't be skipped.
I watched more ads than I did news.

I get ads and revenue, but holy sh*t. I'll be visiting them less.

+1

I still can't figure out why someone hasn't created a chrome extension or something that would allow you to skip the ad. What kills me is when it's the same ad over and over.

Brave is a newish browser that does that, or at least did in their beta version.

Works fine, is all I'll use to listen to youtube audio.

And the ads on YouTube are killing me.
There has always been a lot of it, so since the summer, it has become even more.
By default, for all videos with a duration of eight minutes or more, the commercial break is automatically played exactly in the middle of the video, and therefore I will have to watch it one way or another because it is impossible to cancel its demonstration for the first few seconds.
I understand that people make money from this, but sometimes it really pisses me off.
