Strange Hotmail and Browser Problems

I've been helping someone try to figure out a strange issue.

If she tries to use SEND TO MAIL RECIPIENT on anything, be it from with a Word doc or right-clicking anything else 2 strange things happen, first it open IE even though Firefox is set as her default browser, and it goes to her Hotmail, as it should, Hotmail is set as the default mail client. But also, the new email it opens in Hotmail does not contain the item she is supposedly sending. If she does it all manually, it works like it should.

The same result is done if she chooses EMAIL TO when scanning something on her scanner.

Any help would be appreciated.
