Internet Speed is slower when plugged into the Router

Post by popacap »

My speed is .343mbps when plugged into the router, and .72mbps when plugged directly into the computer. Why is there such a big difference?

Someone may be sucking up the bandwidth from your router if its wireless or another component hooked into it is....also could be that your modem has a firewall/router already built to it and your adding another that you don't need. Could be they are too close to some electrical device like a lamp or speakers causing issues, who knows.

Have you tried to contact your ISP? What service are you paying for?
