Perhaps not, UO was created before P2 was released. The only way for lower ping is to have faster connection or switch to another server.

Its not lag, you're cpu is just too slow. You need an upgrade.

Well, first, I don't think your internet connection is the problem. Let me tell you, UO runs much better on my new 900 T-bird than on my old P3-450.

You can't move a char from one shard to another from what I know =(

Adin, I think you are SOL as far as transfering your char from shard to shard. There are people out there that will transfer gold or homes from shard to shard-for a price of course-some real money and others do it for a price in uo gold. As far as ping time, that is related to your connection-Your system can obviously run uo, but yes a faster system would make a noticable difference. With your setup-I would suggest turning off all unneccessary features (colored lighting, footstep sound, music, etc, ) Also, i hope you are not playing from the CD, Use UO trace to see what the traceroute looks like to your shard. you may find a different shard is much better as far as ping time. Be sure you have defraged your HD (also defrag the virtual mem) as uo uses a fair amount of the VM.

Your ping time in itself cannot be tweaked...

Hold on! alot of times you don't tweak AT ALL! and if you do, please manually go in and tweak, you can't trust those tweak files, in my case, they made me slower, took me 2 days of manually tweaking to get me back to old speed, tweaked some more (manually! ) to get it faster, all the things i downloaded were worthless and sucked! they have limited options and can be even harder to use than going into regedit, plus, some of them are really hard to use!

Well here is a few suggestions to help speed up your UO.
1)Buy everyone on the shard cable (problay not possible but youw ould see a diffrence)
2)call your cable provider and see if you need a booster installed, they will run some ping tests and determin weather or not you do.
3)Then tweak your settings, the best tweaks you'll find here.
4)The tweak windows down a bit if you are using 95 or 98, set it as a network server and as well set it up so it is not using a lot of resources...
5)if you can buy ram, the prices have dropped since the relase of P4.
6)when playing UO, try to have that almost the onlything running.
when i run UO i usualy have a napster clone running and i'm listenin to MP3's and chatting on ICQ lol..
