My wife surprised me last week with a ticket on a B-17 flight. The B-17 in question is "The Liberty Belle" and I can tell you it was a flight that I'll never forget. I've literally got thousands of hours of flight time when I was in the Navy, but I don't think I've ever been so excited about a flight as I was for this one...

Is that a tour that moves around the country? We just had a similar one here a couple months ago, I would've loved to have gone but found out about it too late.

Yeah, talked to one of the guys involved with this group and they tour on weekends from February through November. I think there are three, maybe four planes that tour out of the 13 that are operational.

Man, as an avid WWII fan, I'd love to do this, gotta be the balls!
It was a great experience If you notice on one of the pictures that I took you can see the tail of the aircraft as I'm looking back...the actuality of that picture was that my head and camera were sticking out of the top of the aircraft while we were flying. Now that's a rush!

Thanks That one is my favorite also. I saw him standing back there just staring out the window and knew that he was reliving his days as a doorgunner. It's one of those types of pictures that you happen just to luck into, and it happened to be my lucky day
