Put any potatos in foil out in the yard?

I know I'm going to have the electric bill from hell this month and it's not that hot, but it's hot. Still, it beats that white crap though.

The first time I went to Yuma, AZ I couldn't believe it was 108. Someone said it was a "dry" heat. I said Yep, so is my oven!

If you were at the coast you'd get this crazy weather.

Wow. That's an awesome savings. How long will it take to pay for itself?

system cost me $5200, minus the $1500 federal energy credit i got , so say average of $100 per month savings maybe, times maybe 4 months of heavy usage per year, about 9.2 years to recoup my money LOL

but i needed a new system anyways as the duct work was 42 years old and the units where from 1987.

Dan, how you holdin up out there?

Were getting into the 100+ heat ranges now once the humidity is factored in.

Ditto here.. 100+ coming again today and tomorrow. Had a small storm cell come over about 4pm yesterday it was 98 before and dropped to 81 but then climbed right back up to 95 and the steam bath was on!!

:) it's going to be a nice cool 98

that's measured out at the airport, about 15 miles from here,it will be over 100 here for sure :(

it always warmer here, but ! we do have a cooling trend coming Monday, they say it should be down in the lower 90's,that will be nice,we get a "delta breeze" that comes in from the bay area and cools things down a little once in a while.

That's what kills me. Need the rain to clear the air out, but it only makes things worse.

Brutal today. Took the bike to work today, doing some onsites....I think I caught every red light, forcing me to stop, heat rising from those twin lungs, no rush of air across me.

I am glad I work in a building where it is between 68-70 degrees 365 days a year. I remember being a line tech and hiding in hardware stores just to get a break from the brutal temps. Worse yet being on the rifle range for 8 hours in the scorching, humid Parris Island heat!

Here's some numbers for you if you think you've got it bad...

Amarillo for the month of June:

Days above 100: 13
Days record temp broken or tied: 7
Highest Temp: 111 (which, coincidentally, is the highest temp ever recorded in Amarillo)
Amount of rain for the month: .49 inches (came in one night's rain)
Avg. temp for days above 100: 104.5
Number of days watching grass fires from back porch: 5

I don't miss working outside at all right now...As such, I'm ready for a hurricane to come up through the gulf and stall above the Texas panhandle for about a week...
