That B-25 is actually a Navy/Marine Corps variation dubbed the PBJ-1J. Mostly the same but there were enough differences to warrant a new designation. They had quite a few WWII planes flying, and my favorite engine to hear is the P-51.YeOldeStonecat wrote:Slightly unusual B-25....
I love hearing WWII planes when they do flyovers at shows...the radial engines and big V-12 Merlins 'n Rolls Royces.

From TV shows, that...and the Spit....music to my ears. Of recent air shows, the closest I've had the pleasure of hearing doing a low flyover is a P-40....still a respectable sound.Indy wrote:They had quite a few WWII planes flying, and my favorite engine to hear is the P-51.
Thanks for the details of the PBJ-1J.....what really caught my eye..besides the color scheme and the solid nose, was the side mount MGs much like the B-26 Marauder.
