Either drop down to the $150-160 range and grab a 5770, or move up to the $290-300 range for the 5850.
If you plan to play a lot of borderlands then I guess consider waiting for a DX11 Nvidia card as teh game runs better on Nvidia cards, but ATI/AMD seem to have the rest goign in their favor right now.
Some good reviews of the modern cards can be found here:

Note: I didn't check power reqs of the cards, I'm feeling lazy

That's where my vote would go. I used a Sapphire 5770 in the boys gaming rig we built over XMas. Runs quite well. 165 bucks at NewEgg.YARDofSTUF wrote:Either drop down to the $150-160 range and grab a 5770, or move up to the $290-300 range for the 5850.
In my opinion..if you're building a new rig now, get a card that supports DX11. Why not future proof your rig a little bit, it only makes sense, instead of dropping cash on already outdated cards. The dx11 games are out, Jake plays some on his..and they're jaw dropping gorgeous.

I only know of 3 games out currently that support DX11 so its not that main stream yet but I do agree if you can afford it may as well get a DX11 card, I'm looking forward to Crysis 2 which should release sometime later this year.YeOldeStonecat wrote:That's where my vote would go.
