Its too bad they didn't spend more time making the CGI stuff fit in better.

It's one of the only movies I can recall where the critics almost unanimously have praised it and fans almost unanimously panned it. Check out Rotten Tomatoes' page on it.

I've heard good reviews on it... better than most critics gave on Transformers 2 which was a really good movie.

Good movie. The battle scenes were intense. I would go see this again.

Something tells me many of you would declare a movie good even if it were nothing but a monkey jumping on a trampoline for two hours.

More for the teen crowd.

I thought it held the action well, but just like in the trailers the CGI elements stick out rather than blend in.

I think they tried too hard to add in familiar lines from the cartoons, as well as going overboard on the level of technology.

Whoever wrote the dialogue should be shot, not killed, just maimed.

LOVED IT!! Give it many thumbs up! The CGI and everything worked great for me..you couldn't have done it any different with the amount of weapons and stuff they had just like from the cartoons. Awesome movie!! Action packed from the start to the end!! Can't wait for the next one! :thumb: :thumb:

PG13 seems like an accurate rating.

yes... I didn't recall but a few bad words and even then it was during the heat of battles so you won't pay attention too much as a kid. The death and destruction is what gave it mostly that PG13 rating.

Dude.. you had death and destruction in the damn cartoons.

I'd rather let my kid watch the cartoons I grew up with than this spongbob square pants crap or whatever junk is on TV now.

Because of where I work I really try to watch some of these action movies, but I just can't handle all the over done special effects, crap blowing up, bullets going around corners, etc... I thought Transformers was awful and so many people loved it.
I'll maybe watch G.I. Joe when it's a freebie on Demand.

If you remember the stuff in the cartoons you will see pretty much the same type of technology references and uses in the movie..they did a good job with it.

G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" is a 118-minute animated film with sequences involving the faces and other body parts of human beings. It is sure to be enjoyed by those whose movie appreciation is defined by the ability to discern that moving pictures and sound are being employed to depict violence.
Just watching the trailer, it looks terrible. Transformers 2 was really awful too.

It's fine having lots of explosions and action; I simply don't understand how you can enjoy it though, when it's lacking in any comprehensible plot-line. The story needs to at least make sense.

The trailer to this movie makes me want to turn my head inside-out.

Don't go off that review...don't go off just the trailers since they don't give it justice. It really was one movie that didn't drag longer than 5mins during the last 2 years of movies I've seen. I highly recommend it if you were a fan of GI Joe in general. I'd love to catch some of the old cartoons and watch them even in my 30's I'd grab a bowl of cereal and enjoy em just like I did when I was a kid! :thumb:

The review is pretty accurate, and no the trailers don't give it justice, they make it seem like it could get better. :p
