Engine Tuning Products Not Available for Hondas?

I notice that products like Hypertech (http://www.autoanything.com/performance ... 357A1.aspx) and Bullydog (http://www.autoanything.com/performance-chips/20A50357A1.aspx) don't seem to work for tuning engines for Hondas but they work for a lot of other manufacturers.

I'm curious why this is the case, is there something weird about Honda engines that they can't be tuned, or Honda has made it hard to do so?

Also, can anyone name brand/product of tuner that does work for Honda. Maybe I just haven't come across it.

I did a quick search for Honda tuning products and found tons of stuff. What are you looking for in particular?

Well yeah Google spits back tons of stuff but it all seems like crap. If you look up Hypertech and have a GM truck you can spend like $300 (can spend like $800 too) and flash the ECU to get better power or fuel economy. It's just a device that you plug into the port (has some stupid name like OB___) of your vehicle and things a pretty clear from there.

I'm looking for the exact same thing but for a 2006 Honda Accord V6. Try actually looking very specifically for something to flash the ECU on 2006 Honda Accord and with similar searching you find F-all. There is one "Jet Chip" (http://www-b.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQHondaQQAccordQQJet_ChipsQQPower_ProgrammerQQ19942007QQJ2067001.html#desc) and even finding that was a chore. The North American cars are easy to find (although for trucks, ECU tuning for diesels seems really popular).

I’m not very familiar with that bike but what did you want to know? He’s talking about cars and you’re talking about bikes. So why don’t you make a thread about it? I’m sure somebody will help.

Interesting find though, it does mention that Jet is their competition in there.

I get the impression that you can't flash the Honda chips with new instructions, it seems like you need to replace the ECU or connect something extra to it. It'd sure be nice to find a good source for getting educated on this stuff.

It depends on what car/engine you have. There are many tuning solutions that you can use to tune hondas, from piggyback units which are like apex-i vafc, hondata sc100, hondata sc200, hondata sc300, and k-pro. Then you have stand alone systems such as greddy emanage, aem, and crome. I think the best is hondata because they only make honda tuning solutions. What type of honda is it?
