Post by Thor Walez »

Hi!

A Duron with middle Tower 300Watts with GF² GTS 32DDR, 30gig, 128MBPC133 Infineon, ABIT KT7-A mobo, 17" noname and rest NIC, SB...etc will cost no more than US$1.3k .. what the hell?

Cheers,

Because stuff is cheap right now, so grab it while you can

AMD is vowed to keeping the price of their chips at a certain percentage point below Intels for competitive reasons, every time Intel lower prices so does AMD to keep it under Intel's pricing, and it's VERY nice.

Also RAM is chedap cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap right now! 256MB of PC133 for $80 these days! it's increadible

other parts are cheap as well right now....

Well it's not just that processors, RAM, and the other parts are especially inexpensive. Though they are quite inexpensive!! Supposedly the "market" is slower than usual and some of the big OEMs didn't have a great Christmas season. So they are really trying to get rid of stock. Earlier this year, Michael Dell was quoted as predicting that at least one of the top five OEMs would fold before year's end. So while Intel and AMD might not be advertising a "price War". The OEMs are cutting their margins.

Yep, and that's what keeps me coming back for more :) . Now if I just had some OC skillz with cpu's I would grab a duron for like 42 bucks and get it up to 1Ghz. Sucks my friend just got a damn 1.2hz from HP making mine left in the dust.
