Question for the Guru's

Is it possible for anyone here on the forums to get me a name and address attached to an IP address? The IP address is 68.194.194.16 and the provider is Optimum Online. I'm trying to get in touch with an old friend that used to live in Copiague, NY and sadly this IP address is the last information I have to go by. Cell phones are only good when you pay the bill!
I'm even willing to compensate whoever can get me this info.
No, this information is not being used for any illegal activity, lol.

No, this information is not being used for any illegal activity, lol.

The host is yes Optimum Online..but the only way I can say you will be able to try to contact this person is to first contact Optimum Online and give them the time/date of when you got the IP# and try to explain what you want to do. I hardly think they will give you any information unless your law enforcement though. But they may contact the user for you... who knows cause sure you say its not for illegal activity but we don't know that...you could be wanting to harm that person for owning you on a game server or something..

But at least I tried to answer your question and help you rather than post about some star wars guys holding up a blue tarp.

I definately appreciate the response. I agree, some people really do serve no purpose on this earth. The guys post above is about as useful as a tanning salon in harlem.
I've already tried contacting Optimum but they wouldn't give me the info.
On a side note, only severely mentally sick people could get that twisted over someone owning them while gaming. lol.

Using some tools shows that to be out of the dynamic IP pool from Optimum Online. The tool I just ran showed it to originate from West Babylon NY. On the map, detailed view, it closed in on a larger business building at an intersection..most likely the local OOL office. ool-44c2c210.dyn.optonline.net

Seeing as it's a dynamic IP pool...granted cable ISPs often give long lease times, but chances are that IP address is no longer tied to the person you're looking for, but as been assigned and used by other people since then.
