Installation of the Archbishop of New York at St. Patrick's Cathedral

Post by Debbie »

I had to be at both the Solemn Vespers and the Installation last week. I'm glad I had my camera. While waiting for the procession to begin, I took some pics of the stained glass and architecture.

Archbishop Timothy Dolan at the reception. I was worse than the paparazzi with my camera!! :rotfl:

My boss....dead center.

The last shot is me and Archbishop Dolan. I asked him to sign his picture in the program on that day. One of the priests was nearby and I asked him to take the shot.

The rectangular thingy was a live screen for those individuals who could not see the front by the alters. This cathedral is HUGE!!!
They had live coverage for the website on April 14th Solemn Vespers and National coverage on April 15th Installation.

You know that is me, double chin and all. I had to get me arse in there somehow, someway! lolol! :rotfl:

I was raised a catholic, and even though there are certain aspects of catholicism that I believe in, I still consider myself a spiritualist.

Went kind of opposite...I went from spiritual to catholic.

Well, since I have been working for the Arch, I am finding myself leaning towards the Catholic belief system.

I am just dead set against a few things. One that I can think of off the top of my head is:

If you divorce and re-marry, you cannot receive the Eucharist. If you do, you are sinning.

God loves us all and forgives us all since we are souls with free will. Some of the man-made rules in Catholicism just bother me.

I could go on with this, but not here.

Great shots Debbie, thanks for posting them again.

I love stained glass. The windows behind the organ are amazing.

Ummm, the guy behind you with the red tie has a funny look on his face. Where is your right hand?

It would have been on his nuts squeezing tight since the S.O.B. kept on pushing me and practically stepped on my foot. :rotfl: :rotfl:
