The Blackberry Bold!!!!!

The iPhone3G is #10 while the Blackberry Storm is at #2.
What I can't understand for the life of me is that the two most innovative and productive pieces of technology are crippled by AT&T's lack of infrastructure.
The reason why the Bold is #1 is because it has WiFi....meaning you can use the phone in a WiFi covered area to make phone calls without having to use your cell phone minutes....add to that the fact that AT&T has rollover minutes.
Now the iPhone 3G, while sitting at #10 is still imo the #2 most sought after product and most innovative (app store is killer) but again, is crippled by AT&T's crappy service...which was proven to be fact when Apple released update after update for the iPgone which didn't make things better. It took the user community to show AT&T that the problem was with their crappy infrastructure.
So how in the hell does AT&T get these exclusive deals? If I was RIM.....I would have given the Bold to Verizon as well as the Storm.
The #2 product, the Blackberry Storm is a great phone but it lacks WiFi....which totally kills the idea of the phone. Whille Verizon does have the absolute best coverage and service in North America....their phones are always crippled in some way to help escalate profits.
The Bold will come to Verizon in May of 2009 but it will be crippled by the lack of WiFi. God forbid that Verizon allow us to enjoy the full technology of the phone.
The #1 Tech Product of 2008 is......
Verizon is my carrier. I hate the fact that they have such a limited availability of phones. The good news though is that they have released their specs to the linux community and to manufacturers that sign on and in the future we'll start seeing newer robust phones that are highly customizable.

I could never justify spending that much money on a phone. I always get the most basic of cell phones. For media I have my ipod 30g. I suppose if I needed internet for work then I would get a suitable phone. But all that other jazz just seems like a waste of money to me.

That sounds interesting. But what is the general need for portable projectors? For work and such yes. But that really does not seem to conquer the usability of some of these cell phones.downhill wrote:I'm still on the miniature projector wagon as product of the year.
