A Problem with Microsoft’s Private Folder?

Post by Sting »

Hi,

I’ve been using Microsoft’s “Private Folder 1.0” on my system: Windows XP Service Pack 3, to hide or protect personal data. The problem is that when I use it, ever few days or so, my PC will reboot by itself. It only does this with this folder, so it has me puzzled and by rebooting by itself, no doubt I have a few file system errors, some bad sectors, etc. and need to run a Scan Disk.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does Microsoft offer a better program then PF 1.0, or does anyone know of a good “Freeware” program to pass protect a folder?

Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks for your time,

John

Unfortunately, Microsoft has discontinued Private Folder. Have a look at Folder Password Expert. It's shareware ($39.95, not free) but it comes with free upgrades and good support.
