Free Ghosting program?
I just picked up a new laptop (my first ever) and found that the vista that came on it was BLOATED to say the least. The install and all the extras that the good people at compaq decided to add took up 25 gig of my 120 gig HDD! holy crap.
After some research i found that XP could be installed after a bit of work with drivers and such. well i have it on here and it WAS a pain to get all the drivers working ( why wouldn't compaq offer XP drivers?! proboboly pressure from MS so they can push Vista). I really dont' want to have to do that process again.
Does anyone know of any good Ghosting software so i can make an image of my HDD as is and burn it, that way on next format i can save alot of time with the drivers and such. Any other way to do this?
Thanks

PING looks decent, never used it.
Odds are they didn't make XP drivers because they felt there was no need, or so little interest it didn't justify the cost.

I don't understand how they could figure there is little interest. All the drivers are availible just had to find them and put them in the correct order! Thankfully it seems to be working, and my GOD is it fast compared to vista. (obvious its a bit older). I was willing to give vista a try until i noticed how much crap was installed with it on the laptop. Good lord they put alot of trials on things. This is the first computer i've actually purchased! not used to that at all.
