uhhhhhh... :wth:

No, I don't sense any fanboyism here.

Honestly though, while Crysis had good graphics I just don't see why it would be the best out of everything. Bioshock has some pretty good visuals and a pretty good story line, and the upgrade system, variety of weapons.. I just don't think Crysis really compared. The storyline was too cliche too.

The orange box had some good stuff in it. Another good chapter in the HL2 series, TF2 which is very addictive on the multiplayer front, and Portal which has gotten such grave reviews.

LoL...Crysis wasn't even best shooter. While the graphics are top notch the game was a huuuuuge letdown. BioShock is waaay better and it doesn't even have MP.

I haven't played Orange Box at all....will be soon, though.

Crysis was just a dx10 demo for me -- the gameplay itself was boring, imho

The only part where I might argue against Orange Box winning the award is the fact that 40% of the game is a re-release (and keep in mind that Half-Life 2, while a fantastic game, was released in November of 2004!). Assuming you don't dock any points for that fact, I'd have to say it gains the edge over Bioshock for the value alone.

In no way does that "award" have anything to dew (get it? *hrk* *hrk*) with Microsoft and Pepsi's marketing tie-in of "Game Fuel" and Halo 3...

I've played all those listed and no I'm not picking favs for Crysis...its very easy to see at least between Crysis and say COD4 which is the best game- Crysis FTW!

The SP and MP of the game are awesome...the graphics are awesome. You usually have the ones that say COD4 is better that have a medium to low end system and can't play Crysis like the way its meant to be played. Crysis out of all those games listed and then some is "Future Proof" that alone should push it to the top of all contests as with some patch upgrades you will see performance and Enhancement upgrades such as Quad core optimizing (Only a few others have Dual core, let alone Quad!). You have the ability to take up beyond DX10 to DX10.1 with other releases beyond the first game since it appears there will be a Tri-release with two other sequels.

I can say I enjoyed playing all those other games but hands down Crysis takes the win.

Agreed....the fanboyism for Orange Box is strong. TF2 and Portal carried it.

Crysis only has DX10 graphics and an ANNOYING weapons upgrade system on its side. THe game isnt ground breaking as far as gameplay goes, its a mix of BF2 and Unreal Tournament, just the latest trendy FPS. It got best graphics, as it should, and thats all.

Bioshock even had more time to be played than cryssi before this awards junk.

I haven't picked up orange box yet, HL2 is still my all time favorite PC shooter.

Bioshock is amazing. I have it on 360 and its is a very well put together game. Way better than i was expecting.

COD4 really changed that series up for me. Amazing online experience as well. The levelign system is pretty addictive.

Crysis....yearh right not with this pc...

personally i hated BioShock. the graphics really pissed me off.
the storyline also didnt make sense to me, since when can we alter our dna with a shot to shoot lighning, let alone in the 50's.
basically if they took the graphics from crysis and made the game realistic it would have been better, but the style of that "game" reminds me of timesplitters 2, another game that pissed me off lol.
if you wanna buy a shooter, dont fight it, just buy halo 3

Same here...very quickly bored of it after the first 30 seconds of "This looks cool".

Half Life...looking back in playing all the various FPS games...I think HL still has been the best single person FPS player experience I've had.

I'm currently playing Crysis and I have to agree about the "boring" play. The game looks beautiful but I don't feel like there's anything new in it as far as gameplay.

I think the graphics, sound, and period music gave the game an amazing ambiance and really helped to immerse me into the game. I loved BS, but I wouldn't pick it as the GotY unlike every other site out there.

It's hard to pick one game, but I would have to say the Orange Box. If it was only Half-Life II and the new episodes it would have been a competitor. Add in Portal and TFCII and that's definitely GotY material.

I'm still waiting to play Crysis on a capable computer.
