Video Capture card?

Post by shadrach »

What's a good, affordable video capture device that I can use to simply import some video clips from a Camcorder onto my computer and save them as AVIs or MPEGs?

I'm not looking for any professional setup, just something where I can create minute long or so movie clips directly from the camcorder.

try the ATI all in wonder radeon. its a great analog capture card as well as tv card, dvd decoder and a nice 3d video card. you can get one for around 230 bucks.

i think ATI still makes the TV Wonder. if not, i am sure you can find one on eBay for a pittance (i think they were about $80 or $90 new). it had an RG6 (standard cable tv cable) input...... you may need to pipe it through your VCR first, unless you have that kind of output on your camcorder.
