WoW fps

Post by solidare »

Hi, I recently got a new computer and its better than the one I used before but I don't see such a big improvement in my world of warcraft playing...

my comp has 2038 ram, 256mb vid, and intel core duo 1.86GHz

and im constantly playing between ~15-20 fps and sometimes less in raids, im pretty sure there is something wrong, if anyone could tell me why or help me fix it, it would be much appreciated, thank you :)

as YOS said..you need to figure out what video card you have exactly...cause right now the whole situation or problem your having is with video capabilties.

the vid card isn't exactly good enough to play the game without noticable lag.. might look at a vid card upgrade in the future like a Nvidia or ATI card.

laptops...
no upgrade paths, especially for critical components.

I would look at memory upgrades only, it's guaranteed that the laptop mobo has a proprietary port for a special graphics card
still folding away, haven't been on as much lately

For the week I was into playing WoW I had it running on my laptop @ 1280x800, with all the settings at either low or medium. This gives you a clear UI though it lacks eye candy. This was on an older Pentium M 1.73GHz / GMA900. I imagine you have the GMA950 so it should be slightly better. Mess around with the quality settings and see what you can do.

Also, WoW is very CPU dependant, so make sure your CPU isn't scaling back for some reason when you're playing. That would kill performance.
