Need help with WoW on vista?

Post by weedancer »

Well i finally got WoW working for my new computer and its really laggy I dunno why? I mean i have directX10 and a pretty decent graphics card. I mean even the log in screen is laggy? I get a decent latency 140-160 (wireless). Anyways do you know of anyway I could speed it all up?

prob video lag.. if you have a Nvidia card its most likely that since their drivers pretty much suck..be on the look out for new ones later today or this weekend but here is the most official but you might look at tryin some of the older beta's too.

Haha I had that problem.. well almost.. my modem would just go off and on every few mins.. then it turns out it was just the modem.. I got it replaced.. and voila not much of a problem since.. well aside from the fact that my line got a bit screwed up somehow.. due to the rain.. so yeah didn't have internet for a small sum of time.. thats why I kept stealing it from my neighbours hahha.. of course it was just for web browsing.. and chatting.. yeah.. couldn't do much..

I know I was able to temporarily fix my problem by going into the modem page and resetting it to factory defaults.. it was akward 'cause I held my reset button for 10 seconds which should've reset it back to factory defaults.. i mean it did but it didn't fix my problem.. so i tried it with the modem page afterwards it worked for a bit then it just kept doing it again.. so yeah got irritated..called verizon demanded that I got a new modem and so I got a new one.. haha.. try resetting it back to factory defaults see if that'll help.. if it continues to do it.. depending on your ISP if it's cable or dsl.. then well.. if it's dsl it could also be your line.. be sure to call and ask them if they could check your line to make sure it's okay.. if it's okay on their end and on your end.. it's more than likely your modem..

i think he meant to put "it" not "I" although it's a possibility that it could be your internet lag... but your latency isn't too bad. so I doubt that could be the problem.. it's just a possibility though.. unless he has Vista his post wouldn't be of any use.. of course that's also assuming you two lived in the same area.. has same exact computer in every way as you (or something not as good as yours).. and has the same ISP.. there's not much to really do... it's probably Vista... just the vid card stuff is what seems the more likely answer..

a newer beta driver is out if you wish to try it.. it looks to be alot better than that 100.65 official.

i figured that vista would require alot of high end specs outta your pc.. fps on games would also definitely decrease.....
