Best Bang for buck

Post by aagiants »

Hey guys... After going to school i got a laptop and sold of most of my main computer. I got into gaming again and my laptop can't handle anything... I want some budget parts to put into my comp...

What im looking for is about a budget vid card... Before i had a radeon 9800 pro. Cheap and effective... this was about 2 years ago.. what is a comprable vid card now for around 150ish that is good? (only need dvi)

Also whats some good ram now.. All i need is ddr ram at 3200 speed.

Im too lazy to research this matter haha. help me out here

7800GS or ati 1950PRO, not sure on the prices but those are teh only 2 real worthwhile cards for AGP right now.

Ram depends on your mobo, avoid brand X, OCZ and gskill will probably be your best affordable bets.

I'd say a 1600pro 512mb or a 7600gt. I bought a 1600pro a few weeks ago for an older p4 478 system and I like it.

YOS is right. I'd spend an extra 70 bucks and get this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814143046 if your into gaming bigtime. I use my old rig to connect to my lcd tv to watch divx, and light gaming in bed.

it seems like my only real choices for under 200$ is the 1950 pro or the 7800gs...

Hmmm now to find a good price on each...
