i was watching hogan knows best last night, which i love btw. they moved to miami for brookes career. everywhere they went NOBODY spoke english. they decided to take spanish lessons.

after talking to people down there it was in agreed that in order to survive in MIAMI FLORIDA IN THE USA YOU NEED TO LEARN SPANISH.

FLIP THAT! THIS IS FLIPPIN AMERICA.

YOU KNOW I REALLY DON'T CARE FOR JOHN ROCKER, BUT HE SAID IT BEST WHEN HE SAID "SPEAK ENGLISH"

AND I WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO THAT

"OR GET THE FLIP OUT"

NOBODY IN ANY COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE TO LEARN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE TO SURVIVE IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

With all due respect, it isn't like that down there. Sure there are a lot of Spanish speaking people in Miami and sure there are people there that don't speak a lick of English. But the fact still remains that you can find more English speaking people there than you can Spanish only speaking people. I live in FL and have been to Miami many times. Only thing I know in Spanish is how to say yes, but I have never had a problem when I have gone down there. For years people have been way overstating the population down there. What you should be sick of is the misreprenstation that occurs in the media today or many minority groups.

THANKS for the clarification, but to go to a restuarant in a country and not be able to order food because they speak a different language gets me mad. just had a bug in my @ss this morning i guess

You seem to think that just because you've had a bad day, people should step lightly around you and not post in "your" threads. Quite frankly, I don't care what your personal issues may be; I will post in reply to you with my opinion whenever I wish. You'll just have to internalize your "Hulk...smaaash!" internet forum adrenaline rush and take it out on a Michigan fan at your favorite sports bar.

i dont expect anything from somebody like you ... i dont care if people tread lightly around me or not ... but with the issues i am dealing with right now i dont need you or anybody INTENTIONALLY trying to get a rise out of me ... i do not have an internet forum adrenaline rush...

i have a "i wanted a baby so bad i can taste it and found a means to carry out that dream which excited my wife and i only to talk to people today and find out that our dreams have hit a major roadblock which may not be reversible

if you got on here and had issues that really saddened you, not even i would make things worse for you

I saw that episode and it looked pretty staged to me. I think that the producers of the show went in beforehand and asked the workers to only speak in spanish.

I live in SF, and no one speaks English at my favorite mexican resturant. I couldn't care less though. I know a little Spanish - enough to say "quatro pork tacos, el pastor, por favor, y un orchata" so I can get my four pork tacos and my sweet milk rice drink...

damn, I've just made myself hungry :(

Most reality shows are staged to some degree. I'm loving "I Love New York" right now, but the guy who's dog died is SO a plant for comedy value.

while that is a possibility, that show did not just come up with that ... people have been saying this for awhile and not just about places in florida ... i guess just seeing it on tv made me realize that we are giving up our country more and more ... not just to immigration but other things as well...what is it gonna be like in 20 years? texas will be mexico if it isnt already ... likely worse

I've never understood this fear some people have that "They" are going to take over "our" country. :wth:

i dont think i get bent out of shape on little things, and btw, whether this is a little thing or not will differ from person to person. i will admit though i am louder, more forward, when something is bothering me and i am voicing my opinion about something i may not like ... but i never directed any crap to anyone here, so to be honest i did not expect any back, so when i got some, i am not the kind to shy away from voicing to that person how much of a d!ck he may be ... and while we may not like each other or respect each other...depending on the issue of one, you would think that a far superior one, such as burk, could appreciate the sadness of the situation and not fan the flames INTENTIONALLY... myself being a far less being, can even understand that ... so who is that handles themselves worse, the guy that asks for it, because without that, this conversation does not exist or the guy that gives it?

Well this isnt about burke's post, interesting how you feel so much less than him though, but save that for Sally Jessie.

In general you get pumped up in conversations, its easiest to see in like an anti tyson thread, or sports threads( :D ) some political stuff too.
