Am I doing this right ??

Post by jongru »

Hi All,

I have spent two weeks probably making the same mistakes over and over again. I have a DSL (PPPoE) modem( configured by my ISP as a bridge device) hooked to the WAN port on a Linksys Router (WRK54g) On port 1 I have hard wired with ethernet my Desktop Xp computer. I am trying to do a wireless connection through the same router to my Toshiba Laptop. I just bought a pc adapter card for my laptop. Is this configuration one that is allowable or am I missing something?

Everything is wonderful as long as I hard wire the Laptop. If run it wirelessly, then I can not get the internet or any connections....please help...thanks, jongru

depending on the age of your laptop, you may already have a internal (conflicting) wireless network card. alternately, each manufacturer has their own connection agent... If you are using XP, I would recommend you forgo the Mfg's and go with XPs builtin "Wireless Zero Client"...

if you are online sometime and can catch me at the same time, I can show you 2 get it connected...
