cuz i tried to install UBB on a website before, and then the html scrpit ending up showing all the codes but not the actual page, so i couldn't do the configurattion

you need a webserver

either NT or Unix/Linux

UBB uses CGI so you need the latest Pearl installed...

so i just set it up on Win 2000 (configure it) and i can do everything else (maintainance) on my WinME, right?

so...i installed the win 2k and try to upload the files and stuff....finally i got to the configuration page and when i go to general settings, it didn't display what it should be, it displayed the actual codes.....brent, would u mind helping me with this? By the way, i m doing this on Fortunecity, could this be the problem? If so, what FREE webpage provider should i use? I notice that some of them doesn't let me upload cgi...thx in advance

cy88, I think the file permissions are not set correctly. That is why it is displaying the code. I don't know how to change webserver file permissions on Windows 2k though, does anyone else?
