Did a vodka tasting one night (well a few nights, but I mainly remember the one ;) ). We found Chopin was number one, Stoli number two, and Skyy was three. Absolute was right there with Smirnoff and some other one as the bottom dwellers. I guess Ketel was in the middle.

Skyy was number three mianly because it wasnot offensive. Tasteless, but not offensive

Chopin is good stuff! :thumb:
Skye is the every day drinker...use that for mixed drinks. I'd say it's the lowest I'll go, brand wise.

I'm not a Vodka aficionado by any means but I do enjoy Finlandia and Thor's Hammer.

Good stuff.

Stoli is better than Absolut. This was on Fickle Hill, not one of the ones we did.

try some vodka of choice with about a half a bag of jolly ranchers in a blender with ice filling it up the rest of the way....and yes the blender will obliterate the jolly ranchers quite nicely....makes a nice little frozen beverage.

If you can find it try 'Hangar 1', great stuff. I've been on a Vodka-Soda trip lately....really refreshing and tasty, feels like you're hydrating instead of getting drunk!

Hanger 1 is the best vodka in my opinion. I am a big fan of Goose/Finlandia/Belvedere(sp)/stoli too.

I dunno..I'm not huuuge into Vodka...more of a gin fan.

Suppose it's up to the person themselves...as to what "base" they prefer it from. Chopin is brewed from potatos, (I guess "distilled from" is more proper). Most of the others..wheat or rye. There's a French one I've been wanting to try...haven't gotten a chance..it's distilled from grapes (Ciro or Ciroc or something like that).

But I do find that Chopin, when slamming shots, seems to be easier to do a few shots of in a row...over any others I've tried. Goose and One are definitely right behind it though. I don't like Stoli, not really a fan of Abs either..those two..can stay for mixed drinks....although for mixing drinks, I'd skip those two and use Skye.

Yuck...those big plastic bottles you get at college campus packy stores for dirt cheap. That was one of those brands...another gallon size of that budget vodka was something like Bukoff. We'd all it "puke-off"..cuz the next morning......

No mention about one I just recently became a fan of. 3 Olives is a very good Vodka. I had quite a few this weekend and was impressed how nice extra dry (No vermouth!!!) martinis they made.

Grey Goose, Chopin, Pirat, Ketel One, & Belvedere are my top choices. I wish I could find Pirat again.. It's Polish Vodka, triple distilled and comes in a bottle shaped like a Pirate ship. ARRRRR!!! :D

Skyy was a college daze favorite but it's also the culprit of my one and only case of alcohol poisoning. :o It took me a long time to come back to Vodka and to this day, I've never given Skyy another chance.

Agree with about everything voiced already, except to say that Grey Goose is over-priced and not even that tasty IMO.
