ok,
my cable was installed and i started to download ,then about 45 minits later it came to a complete halt,I couldnt even access the internet.I restarted, then everything was fine.half hour later it stopped again. This process repeted about 6 times till i called cox cable and they said it was my windows kernel .I myself ran a SFC and noticed my winipcfg.exe was corrupt.I fixed it, ran a few more SFC after restarts and stuff.Still getting same thing but now when i go to restart, i get an invalid VXD error says may be possible to continue, when i type any key to continue,i get a window on my monitor saying, "signal out of range"
(I get this same error when i dont turn my monitor off when i unplug it.OOPS!!!)
I scanned for :
-worms, using wormguard
-virii, using nortons latest antiviris with latest updates
-trojans, using tauscan
of course i had none.
Can anyone help me with this?

I see alot of people complaining about their connection stopping after awhile of downloading
I know how frustrating it is when your connection dies
Here's my story, awhile back i had this really annoying problem of my connection dying whenever i was uploading
It could be 1 minute, 30 minutes or an hour blah blah blah into the upload and connection would just die
I would then have to unplug the power, wait till it syncs up, then i'll be fine and dandy until i start to upload again
Then someone on this board had a similar problem and i think same provider as me OOL
said to take out i believe the PTMUDiscovery string that the tweak had added and voila after that my problem was gone
Then awhile back when cablenut started tweaking the registry i saw some strings that i didn't have in mines so i added them in
From what i remember i think whenever i was downloading after that new registry update my connection would die off
I knew that never happened before soo i started thinking then i remembered about the new strings i had added in the registry
I took those out and bingo , problem solved
Okay, this is mho but you guys shouldn't tweak the hell out of the registry adding all these strings
The regular one on speedguide is fine enough imho
The max i ever got out of my connection was 900KBytes++
That's with basically the regular patch
Tweaking the hell outta it might be good or cause major problems
So for you guys with this connection dropping off problem, why don't you return your registry to normal and test out your downloads for a couple of nights
If all is well then you'll know where the problem lies

Sounds Like your windows is messed up .You might need to reinstall and reformat it. Plus Make sure your memory is seated right in the computer. Some computer will flash No signal across the screen if the memory is loose or the video card is loose. Or at least try bootup with your bootup disk and at the a promp type setup and reinstall windows. So that way anything is missing it will restore it. GoodLuck!
